Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Heating Engineer to join our team based in South West London. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, offering the opportunity to deliver high-quality heating solutions to residential and commercial clients across the region. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating systems, ensuring all work meets industry standards and client expectations. You will work both independently and as part of a team, managing your time effectively to complete projects on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety.Key Responsibilities:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Install, commission, and service central heating systems, boilers, and related equipment in domestic and commercial properties</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Diagnose faults in heating systems and carry out repairs efficiently and cost-effectively</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on heating installations</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation manuals</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Ensure all work complies with Building Regulations, Gas Safe standards, and health and safety legislation</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Maintain accurate records of work completed, including timesheets and job documentation</li><li value="7" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Communicate professionally with clients, explaining work required and providing advice on system operation and maintenance</li><li value="8" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Manage tools and equipment responsibly, ensuring they are maintained in good working order</li><li value="9" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Liaise with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate schedules and resolve technical challenges</li><li value="10" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Respond to emergency call-outs when required to address urgent heating failures</li></ul>Candidate ProfileWe are looking for candidates who combine strong technical expertise with a professional approach to customer service. The ideal heating engineer will have proven experience in heating system installation and repair, hold relevant qualifications, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality. You should be reliable, organised, and capable of working independently while also being a supportive team member. We value engineers who take pride in their work, communicate clearly with clients, and continuously seek to improve their skills and knowledge.Experience &amp; Expertise Required:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a qualified heating engineer or plumber with heating specialisation</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Current Gas Safe registration (or equivalent recognised certification)</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Competence in installing and servicing boilers, radiators, pipework, and associated heating components</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Knowledge of Building Regulations and current heating system standards</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in heating installation and maintenance</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Ability to read technical drawings and understand system schematics</li><li value="7" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Valid driving licence and access to reliable transport for site visits across South West London</li></ul>Qualities &amp; Work Approach:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex heating faults</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Professional and courteous manner when interacting with clients and colleagues</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Reliable, punctual, and organised in managing time and priorities</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Proactive approach to health and safety, with a zero-tolerance attitude to shortcuts</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving heating technologies</li><li value="7" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on site</li></ul>Role Impact &amp; Success:This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in clients' homes and businesses by ensuring their heating systems operate safely and efficiently.
